LISA PARRY

Physiotherapist

Lisa graduated with a 2;1 from Salford University in 2009. She worked for a short while in the NHS, before making the move into private practice and sports. She has worked in a busy practice for the last eight years, working with a variety of injuries and age groups, Lisa has a particular interest in treating sports injuries and working with chronic pain, after attending the “Neuroscience of Pain” CPD (continuing professional development).

 

Joining Malone Rugby Club, All Ireland League Division One, in 2009 as team physiotherapist she enhanced her experience working with musculoskeletal and sports injuries.  This included treating a variety of patients, from the elite to adolescent athlete… and even the veterans!

 

Lisa has been teaching Pilates for six years, after completing her training through the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute) and she continues to add to her certificates, having completed her Matwork 1, 2 and 3, Pilates for shoulder injury, Pilates for runner, ante natal/post natal Pilates, Pilates and small equipment, Pilates and all the small balls and Pilates for hypermobility, Pilates for neurological conditions, AND Pilates for children and teens!

 

In 2017 she was selected as team physiotherapist for the Northern Ireland Men’s National Volleyball Team. For this role she had to complete extra training and gain approval from the FIVB (Federation of International Volleyball) and the IOC (International Olympic Committee). She was lucky enough to attend the European Championships, Small Countries Division Finals which took place in May 2017, Reykyavik, and accompany the team to Karlovy-Vary (Czech Republic) for the World Championships Qualifiers.

 

Lisa has played high level Volleyball for over 20 years, so she has a very good idea of the types of injuries commonly picked up, and how best to try and prevent them.

 

Lisa’s passion for her work continues, developing her knowledge portfolio by attending a range of post graduate courses and training seminars. She is currently part way through her Post Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine through SOMM - The Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine. She currently subscribes to several online CPD portals such as Trust me ED - “the Netflix for physios” an online collection of lectures and webinars from world leaders in musculoskeletal medicine and physiotherapy.
